Active Schools

Active schools - what's the benefit?

With many pressures on school time and resources, just why should we commit to maintaining activity levels in our schools?

Whilst we agree with Amanda Spielman’s recent assessment, that parents must not “abdicate their responsibility”, we do believe that together we can play a crucial role in educating, inspiring, and influencing young people and their families to undertake an active lifestyle.

The benefits of increasing activity levels in all of our students are clear, with evidence of:

  • Improved mental wellbeing

  • Increased concentration

  • Reduced conflict and improved behaviour

  • Improved attendance and attainment

The resources below will provide useful evidence, information, and ideas for increasing activity levels within your school.
